“In 1986, when Pratishthan (Shri Mataji’s Home in Pune) was under construction, about 25 foreign yogis were working on the construction – plumbers, electricians, carpenters, artists, etc. Shri Mataji had moved into an unfinished room in the guest wing to supervise the construction. I would take Her to the market at 5 am, where She would handpick fruits and vegetables for the yogis. At 9 am, She would be there to supervise. In the evening, She would prepare dinner for everyone. After dinner, we would gather downstairs for bhajans and She would lead us on the harmonium. Then came meditation. Since most of us were suffering from agnya, She asked us to meditate at Her lotus Feet with our eyes open: “Meditating on My Feet will absorb your agnis.
One day a jeweler from Kolahpur, S Govind came with the silver that Shri Mataji had ordered for the weddings. A western yogi asked him to make a pair of padhukas for Shri Mataji and asked Her to vibrate them. Then the yogi kept the silver Feet on his altar and meditated on them. A few weeks later, Shri Mataji found that her Agnya was still catching. He replied, “But I have meditated on your silver lotus Feet.”

Shri Mataji revealed, “The photograph of My Feet has My coefficient. Anything that is man-made cannot have My coefficient. Just like My sari has My vibrations but does not have My coefficient, so if you worship My sari, it will not absorb your Agnya – if you worship artificial silver Feet instead of the photograph of My Feet, it will not absorb Agnya.”
The yogi bowed humbly and then began to meditate on the photograph of Her lotus Feet. A week later, Shri Mataji patted her on the back, “Ekadesha Rudra is pleased with you.”
One thing I understood is that though everything Shri Mataji touches emits vibrations, it does not absorb the negativity from our chakras and destroy the bhoots – only Her photograph has that power.
