Jai Shri Mataji!
The New Zealand collective invites us to Shri Kartikeya Puja which will be held this Saturday in Auckland.
New Zealand is the abode of Shri Kartikeya, who sits on the right Mooladhara, and kills all the demonic powers. He is Shri Ganesha’s brother.
The Puja coincides with Kartik Purnima which celebrates Shri Shiva’s aspect who killed the demon Tripura (three son’s of Tarakasura). Southern part of India worship Shri Kartikeya during this period.
Shri Kartikeya incarnated as Shri Gyaneshwara. Shri Gyaneshwara was a great poet and saint who lived in Maharashtra in 12th century and wrote a treatise on the Gita, called the Gyaneshwari. In his Gyaneshwari, he wrote in the sixth chapter about Kundalini. At the age of 21 or 23, Shri Gyaneshwara took his Samadhi.

“Today is a great day, I should say in a way, because I am going to tell you one thing great. That is Shri Gyaneshwara – in Marathi they call it ‘Dnyaneshwara’ – He was the incarnation of Kartikeya. And Saraswati, who was a virgin, she looked after Him like Her own son. He was the brother of Shri Ganapati but She looked after Him. And then also there’s description how He was born and all those (things), is very interesting. But here in this place, in this Maharashtra, He took His incarnation. And also there were many great, great, very great saints in so many numbers took place, took their birth in this Maharashtra.”
