Dear Yogis,
Jai Shri Mataji!
Darshan of the Goddess.
Nineteen years ago, on 14th January 2016, Shri Mataji and Her family returned to the Land of Shri Ganesha after a 10 year absence. It marked the beginning of one of the most auspicious occasions for Australia when Shri Mataji was with us for three months. Yogis from around the country and indeed from across the world, came to Burwood Ashram and were able to receive the Darshan of the Goddess.
Recollections from 2006
Recollections and photos from Shri Mataji’s 2016 visit can be enjoyed here: https://www.sahajayoga.com.au/shrimataji2006/welcome.html
Celebration of the movement of the sun
These words were offered to Shri Mataji in 2016, to mark Her visit at that time:
“The day of Your arrival is the 14th of January and this is the day of Makar Sankranti, which is the celebration of the movement of the sun into the north, a time of great meeting, to propitiate the gods, to welcome the sun, our much loved star, the sustaining power of life, the provider of all nourishment and growth, but what is the movement of the sun compared to the movement of the Creator of the sun, the earth, the stars, the entire Universe, the Creatrix who has given spiritual meaning and understanding to the Universe, the All powerful Shri Adi Shakti who has on this day, moved to the south. This day will always be celebrated by us all, as the day when Our Mother returns to us once more.”

Invitation to Offering
In the spirit of this offering, all Yogis are invited to the Makar Sankranti Puja offering at Burwood Ashram on Tuesday 14th January 2025 at 7pm. On this auspicious day, we request the blessings of Shri Mataji to assist us to remove all the obstacles that are preventing the return of the collective to meet at Burwood Ashram and to unite the NSW collective behind the work to prepare and to make a formal DA submission to Burwood Council.
No rostered groups
As it is mid week, there will be no Puja meal offered. There will be no rostered groups. We ask everyone to pitch in and collectively host the Puja and to work to return Burwood to the condition we found it after the Puja. Visiting Yogis movements to and from Burwood Ashram need to be done discreetly and with minimum noise. No double parking outside for drop offs and pickups. Conversations should be concluded quietly while within Burwood Ashram and not conducted outside, on Clarence Street.
One off occasion
Due to the restrictions that are still in place, this event will be presented as a one off occasion until such time as the restrictions can be lifted.
Sincerely
LETA Trustees

“…we should speak sweetly on this day.”
“So, at least, within ourselves we should speak sweetly on this day. Then we can start speaking to others very, very sweetly. Now some people think, to speak sweetly is a sign of weakness. In some countries people believe that if you speak to someone sweetly, it is a sign of weakness. It is the greatest strenght of a Sahaja Yogi to speak to others with respect with proper protocol and with proper understanding. “
