Return after 10 years

In 2006, it had been ten years since HH Shri Mataji had last graced Australia, and on that auspicious day, we were blessed beyond measure to welcome Her back once again.

Every place where HH Shri Mataji’s Holy Feet touch becomes sanctified, raised as sacred ground, a living temple to Her glory. HH Shri Mataji – our greatest blessing is that we have been born as Your children. We have nothing to offer but the love, devotion, and collectivity of Your Sahaja Yogis.

20 years since the Divine’s visit

14th January 2026 marks twenty years since that Divine visit. Our heartfelt desire is to recreate, as far as possible, a Sahaja environment of beauty, serenity, purity, and tranquillity – an atmosphere welcoming of Shri Mataji’s Nirakara presence and filled with gratitude for Her boundless compassion. This remains one of the most auspicious moments in Australia’s Sahaja history: the day we welcomed back to the Land of Shri Ganesha, at the time of Param Puja, HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the All-Powerful Creatrix, Sustainer, and Supporter of the Universe.

Makar Sankranti Puja

The 14th of January marks Makar Sankranti, the sacred movement of the sun into the north, a time-honoured across cultures to propitiate the Divine, to welcome the sun, our beloved star, the sustainer of life, nourishment, and growth. Yet what is the movement of the sun compared to the movement of the One who created the sun, the earth, the stars, and the entire universe? On this most sacred day, the Adi Shakti, the Creator of all creation, once more bestowed Her presence upon Australia. For us, this day will always be remembered and celebrated as the day Our Mother returned to Australia.

We look forward to welcoming all Sahaja Yogis to Burwood to gather together in collective joy, gratitude, and devotion to honour Makar Sankranti Puja and this sacred anniversary.

No rostered groups and parking

As it is midweek, there will be no Puja meal offered. There will be no rostered groups. We ask everyone to pitch in and collectively host the Puja and to work to return Burwood to the condition we found it after the Puja. Visiting Yogis’ movements to and from Burwood need to be done discreetly and with minimum noise. No double parking outside for drop-offs and pick-ups. Conversations should be concluded quietly while within Burwood Ashram and not conducted outside, on Clarence Street.

With Love,

“…we should speak sweetly on this day.”

“So, at least, within ourselves we should speak sweetly on this day. Then we can start speaking to others very, very sweetly. Now some people think, to speak sweetly is a sign of weakness. In some countries people believe that if you speak to someone sweetly, it is a sign of weakness. It is the greatest strength of a Sahaja Yogi to speak to others with respect with proper protocol and with proper understanding. “
