Closure 19th December 2025

Burwood Sydney

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Jai Shri Mataji

Cease to trade

It is with great sadness that we must inform you that in its 24th year of operation, Mother’s Love Early Education and Childcare Service will cease to trade as of the 19th December 2025. This has been a very difficult decision, but one that has to be made.

There are many reasons for the closure, but primarily we do not have enough enrolments to continue into the new year, nor the funds to sustain another year of losses. Her Holiness Shri Mataji established the Preschool as a way of Sahaja Yogis children and non-Sahaja alike experiencing Her Love and Attention, it was never a “money-making project”, and to date we have managed through fundraising and donations to stay viable.

Partnerships

Over the years, we have worked in partnership with Government Departments of Education, Health and Community and have fulfilled all our legislative obligations to a high standard. Mother’s Love has been a well-respected Childcare Centre in the Burwood area, providing care to thousands of children and supporting families since 2001.

There have been external challenges, with a number of large, impressively resourced new Childcare services opening within close proximity, taking the attention of local families and prospective enrolments.

Tightened Government regulation

The recent media interest in Early Childhood Services has resulted in tightened Government regulations that have increased financial pressures. With consistently decreasing enrolments and increased running costs, our viability has been challenged.

Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Childcare Centre has been struggling to regain enrolments. As Directors, we have done all that we can to keep the centre viable and to attract enrolments, initiating fundraisers, auctions, High Teas, sausage sizzles, renovations and social media campaigns.

Grateful to each and every Sahaja Yogi

We are extremely grateful to each and every Sahaja Yogi who has offered support for the Centre through financial donations, artistic offerings, items for the online auctions, coming to the Centre to help with meditation, arts and crafts, making jams and other delectable sauces and pickles, attending High Teas, and for those who have enrolled their children in the Centre.

Over the years we have made wonderful renovations with the help of many volunteers. We have been assisted by the Sahaja Yogis with great financial donations and support for running the Preschool as our enrolments decline.

We have also been very grateful that during this time that the collective, through the Trustees of LET Australia, have been compassionate in granting us rent-free premises since 2020. Without their support, we would have had to close a long time ago.

Opportunity to spread Her Love

Last, but not least, we acknowledge with humility the Sahaja Yogis of Australia and the overseas collective who donated the initial finances, and worked hard voluntarily to establish the Preschool building, and established Mother’s Love as a legal and professional entity as per Shri Mataji’s instructions. This gave the rest of us the opportunity to spread Her Love to the children, families, and community.

Jai Shri Mataji!

Final High Tea

We are having a final High Tea, as a final celebration of Shri Mataji’s beautiful Centre, but also to raise funds to meet the financial obligations required for the closure of the Centre.

Please ladies, save the date for Sunday November the 9th and be ready to book in, we will send out further information shortly.

We know that Shri Mataji’s Love has sustained the Centre all these years and now it is time to close.

With Respect from
Kim Pearce, Miriam Sattarshetty, Leela Frankcombe and Elizabeth Gaikwad.
