Dear Family,
Jai Shri Mataji!
HH Shri Mataji on the significance of the “Adelaide” name
“Actually Adi-la. La is Lalita. La is Lalita and Adi the Primordial Lalita, and lalita is left sided. So it is to be taken from Adi-lada. Adi-lada. It comes from four words, Adi. Adi, la, da. Alright. So Adi-la. La means lalita and da means the one giver. So the giver of the Adi-lalita is Adi-laid. Alright it has a big name if you try to really see through it. I don’t know how they gave this name to this place. Why maybe the unconscious has done it.”

New country property located
The Adelaide Collective have earnestly continued their search for HH Shri Mataji’s South Australian Ashram. As a National Project that was launched at the National Shivaratri Puja in 2017, the Adelaide Ashram is our national priority project. A 2.5 acre country property 62km south of Adelaide has been located and it is felt, by the Adelaide Collective, SA Council and National Coordinators that this is an ideal property for an Ashram.
The house was built in 2003 and is surrounded by rolling green farmland hills. It provides 4 bedrooms plus 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is well appointed adjoining the open plan lounge & dining areas. There is a double-car port which could be utilised as a future Puja Room. The house has a big verandah overlooking the beautiful surroundings.
HH Shri Mataji spoke twice about the need for a Centre in Adelaide
“Adelaide people have to find an Ashram. Otherwise they are not Sahaja Yogis! You have to listen to Me. I’m for your good, for your benevolence, I want you to have that highest life.”
HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Shri Kundalini Gauri Puja, Melbourne, 16 February 1992.
“So please in Adelaide, unless and until you have an Ashram I’m not going to come there.”
HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, 5 March 1992, Final Talk of Australia Tour, Burwood, Sydney.
National Fundraising Appeal
We now ask that you give generously to fund this Ashram for the South Australian Collective. Currently $172,000 has been raised for this project – $102,000 by the Adelaide Collective ($10,500 since the property was visited on Sunday!) and $70,000 from the National Campaign so far – all funds donated last year for the proposed purchase of the hall in Edwardstown are included in this $70,000.
We sincerely thank all those Yogis from around Australia that have given so generously to date!
The property is valued at $465,000. Therefore our target is to raise another $297,000.This is the time for us all to put our hands up as Sahaja Yogis and stand together to bring this project to fruition.
If each adult Yogi can donate $1,008, this property can be purchased without placing significant ongoing financial loan repayments on the South Australian Collective. Of course, those Yogis that can afford and wish to give more, it is greatly appreciated. Those that cannot donate $1,008 please give what you can afford. This is a Collective effort that requires all of us.
As a small Collective, Adelaide has insufficient funds to purchase an Ashram on its own. As it is a National Centre to be owned by the Australian Collective, we appeal to you for your support. Through this National Collective fund raising appeal, we hope that, together with the support of the South Australian collective we can make this long held dream of the South Australian Collective come true.
Your bandhans, prayers and generosity is humbly requested as we seek to provide the Adelaide Collective a permanent home to worship HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi.
We also ask that you hold your enthusiasm and do not visit the real estate website for a while as it creates an idea that there is more interest and maintains a higher asking price.
