Jai Shri Mataji!
All brothers and sisters are invited to gather as one united family at the Lotus Feet of our Divine Mother, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, to celebrate Her Birthday Puja this Friday at Burwood Ashram – one of HH Shri Mataji’s much revered and loved homes. (Read the more below about the Divine importance of Burwood Ashram to Shri Mataji.)
This will be NSW’s main collective gathering for Birthday Puja.
Yogis living away from Burwood, and around Australia, will also be offering their own Birthday Puja offering in their location on Friday.
Live Webcast
For those unable to attend a collective event, we have arranged for a live webcast from Burwood Ashram on Friday to ensure the whole collective is together on this very auspicious day to celebrate Shri Mataji’s 102nd Birthday. The event will be streamed and recorded on YouTube. Please follow the link below to access the YouTube event.

All yogis are most welcome to participate in this divine activity as devotees of our Holy Mother – no one is excluded. Please contact Subhash at Burwood on 0404 563 321 to join the preparation team.
Visiting Burwood Ashram?
Reminder to visiting Yogis – movements to and from Burwood Ashram need to be done discreetly and with minimum noise. No double parking outside for drop offs and pickups. Conversations should be concluded quietly while within Burwood Ashram and not conducted outside, on Clarence Street.
One off occasion
Due to the restrictions that are still in place for Burwood Ashram, this event will be presented as a one off occasion until such time as the restrictions can be lifted.
We are looking forward to seeing the NSW collective this Friday at Buwood Ashram, or online – it will be a wonderful evening celebrating Shri Mother’s birthday in Her home.
With love,

The Divine importance of Burwood Ashram
A yogi shares his experience below about the significance of Burwood Ashram to Shri Mataji in the lead-up to Her 2006 Australian visit.
“Shri Mataji expressed Her desire to return to Her much-loved home at Burwood.”
In 2005, Hari called Chris from Cabella with the exciting news that after a ten-year absence, HH Shri Mataji was considering returning to visit Australia and had expressed Her desire to return to Her much-loved home at Burwood. As the Coordinator at that time and on behalf of the Australian collective, I expressed our unlimited joy with this news and the blessing this meant for Australia and the collective.
I shared with Hari that the previous leader had commenced unapproved building works at Burwood. The local Council had intervened as the work were commence without the necessary Council approvals. Burwood Council had issued a court order to immediately halt all illegal building work. All work had to stop. As a result, Burwood was a building site with parts of the house demolished. Due to the unsafe condition of the Ashram, the collective at that time were meeting next door at 12 Clarence Street.
I offered to Hari that we would hire a mansion or a palace – something overlooking the sea or the harbour , a residence fitting for the Goddess to host HH Shri Mataji and Her family. It was unlikely that we could resolve the legal issues and have Burwood renovated in time. Hari said he would explain the situation to Shri Mataji and come back to me. A short time later, Hari called again and shared that he had explained the situation about Burwood with HH Shri Mataji . Hari shared Shri Mataji’s response:
I shared with Hari that as it was August 2005, and the planned visit was in January 2006, we needed to resolve the court proceedings, lodge a development application in our favour, complete significant and major renovation and building works, could he go back and explain this to HH Shri Mataji. We did not feel it was possible to prepare Burwood in time for the planned visit.
Hari shared with me that he remembered some passage in the bible where someone had denied Lord Jesus Christ three times. Hari said he had already twice explained the situation to HH Shri Mataji and twice HH Shri Mataji had said that Her desire was to return to Her Burwood home. Hari said, unlike the person from the bible, he is not going back a third time to HH Shri Mataji. Hari said if HH Shri Mataji said She wanted to stay in Burwood then have faith and there must be some pathway whereby we can prepare Burwood in time. Hari added the great task HH Shri Mataji had now laid before the Australian collective was to find that pathway and to prepare Her Burwood home in time as She had requested. “Good luck” he said, then put the phone down.
A few days later, we shared the news with the collective at the weekly program. Everyone cheered, clapped, and said that if this is HH Shri Mataji’s desire then we will achieve it. This is now all our task, have no fear or doubts, we will raise whatever money is needed. We will get all the necessary approvals and all the collective will unite and come to Burwood and work 24×7, from now until January 2006 to make this happen.
Miracle upon miracle then unfolded, and all of this came to pass.
As HH Shri Mataji requested, on January 14th, 2006, HH Shri Mataji, after a ten-year absence, returned to Burwood, as we were showing HH Shri Mataji around the newly renovated Burwood, HH Shri Mataji commented: “I am home”
Whenever circumstance allow, the collective must return to HH Shri Mataji’s Burwood home as within that deep sacred space of the heart, we can feel the deep auspiciousness of a place that resides both in heaven and on earth, at the same time.
Jai Shri Mataji!
With love Chris
