Seeking Mentors for Seekers
Dear Sahaj family,
Jai Shri Mataji!
As a blessing from the online 21 Day courses being held from all over the world, we are in a wonderful position to be able to provide online support through our mentoring program to new seekers that request support from an established yogi to nurture them in what every way they request.
Some seekers like to have meditation through Zoom or WhatsApp one on one, others just like feedback when they need it, and others enjoy resources such as music, written or guided meditation links, or techniques, etc.
We are now looking for more yogis to join our mentoring team so we can support more seekers in Australia and around the world.
See how to join our team below.
What does it mean to be a mentor?
We offer seekers the opportunity to be paired with an experienced Sahaja Yoga practitioner as a mentor to provide individual support, if desired. The idea is to get to know the seeker, listen to their feedback and problems, answer questions, and last but not least, meditate with them individually. The amount of time devoted to this will vary widely depending on the particular seeker, but you should not feel pressured to be available at all hours of the day and night – rather, plan to be reasonably responsive to the seeker’s needs. Also, some seekers can have more than one mentor, especially as they grow over time.
Seekers will be at all levels including beginners, intermediate and some ready for Puja. We will let you know where they are at.
Like to become a Mentor?
If you would like to become mentor, then please add your details to our national Mentor’s register and we’ll be in touch with more details and training.
Getting started
There has been developed a protocol to keep the mentoring consistent in our delivery of information and how we respect the seekers wishes. We have some great online resources to guide you to becoming a Mentor and handouts for seekers which we recommend reading prior to starting your mentoring career! The Resources and handouts are available here.

Story from a Mentor – A Sahaja Yogi
“I am mentoring a young girl in my Occupational Therapy (OT) community who received her Self Realisation a few years ago, but her mother passed away, and she had a few challenging years.
She has sort me out recently and advised she has since received a diagnosis of ADHD and is on medication which although helps her with her attention to get through the day, she is now footsoaking every night while listening to a meditation from the “wemeditate” app and said, “the footsoaks are really helping and I’m feeling a little calmer since”
Story from a Mentee – A Seeker
“Hi, I was in a Zoom breakout* room with Linda and Kerry. Linda is meditating since 3 years and her story is just really mind-blowing – Linda, she would love to share her story!
She grew up in Iraq when there was the war going on and when she came to the USA, she said that every time there was a thunderstorm, lighting, or the 4th of July celebrations with the fireworks she would start screaming and not be able to stop it. She had to take heavy medication.
When she started with Sahaja Yoga, Shri Mataji came into her dream and told her: “If you want it I will give it to you.”
She said now she can see the fireworks, hear the sirens, and she has no reaction whatsoever!
Kerry who attended for her second time and was wondering about the different set up compared to other meditations seemed to be really impressed by Linda’s story (and who wouldn’t). They talked about other meditations and Linda said she tried them all but they all did not help and they did not even explain anything about the chakras. They only talked about energy centers. But in Sahaja Yoga, she learned how each body part was connected to a chakra, and the mental, emotional and physical part of it.
It was a really wonderful experience today! And such a Wow-story!!! 🩷
(* Breakout rooms allows a Zoom meeting host/organisor to divide a Zoom meeting into separate, smaller sessions for one-on-one interactions)
“You need to look after the new seekers with this feeling…”
“Maturity means having a kind of paternal feeling, a fatherly feeling, a motherly feeling. You need to look after the new seekers with this feeling, having love towards them like the love your Mother has for you. You should love them like that. If we think that the people of the world are absolutely useless, then would we have been able to work out Sahaja Yoga? And if we only go on comparing ourselves, then we are alone in this world. With whom can we compare ourselves? But that question does not arise at all. Here it is like how many can we bring in to our shelter? Now our numbers are less. In this shelter, who do we bring? Who can we keep? This is the concern.”
