As the lamps of Diwali settle into quiet glow, my heart is full and we want to pause and say thank you, because what we shared together this year was something truly precious. Diwali is the festival of light returning, of darkness giving way, of the Goddess entering a home that has been made ready for Her. This year, we felt that we did not only celebrate that story; we lived it.
Her Holiness Shri Mataji taught us that the lamps we light outside are meant to awaken the lamp within, and that when one lamp is lit, it can light a thousand others without losing any of its own light. That is exactly what we saw happen among us. One act of love sparked another, and another, until our whole Australian collective was glowing.
To all the sisters who gathered to prepare the Diwali sweets for every Sahaja family: thank you from us all. This was the first time such a gift has been offered, and I don’t think any of us will forget it. I can only imagine the hours, the laughter, the care, the hands working side by side in the kitchen. Each sweet carried something of that atmosphere into our homes. Shri Mataji always reminded us that sweetness is the true nature of the Spirit, and that a Sahaja Yogi should be sweet in speech, in action and in heart. Your offering made that teaching tangible. When families opened those boxes, they received not just sweets but a message: you are remembered, you belong,
you are loved.
To our Yuva family, and to all our wonderful Yogis who served us such a beautiful meal: thank you. It was unique, delicious and offered with such grace. There is something deeply moving about seeing our young people step forward to serve the collective with joy and humility. Food prepared with love carries vibrations, and everyone could feel it. More than that, you showed us the future of Sahaja Yoga, bright, generous and full of heart. Shri Mataji placed so much hope in the youth, and watching you, we felt that hope being fulfilled.
To the large team of inspired Yogis who came together to redecorate Shri Mataji’s room, the first major renewal at Burwood since 2007, and to those who painted it with such devotion: thank you.
Nearly two decades have passed since that room was last renewed, and in that time so much of our lives and our collective has grown and changed. To restore Her room now felt like a renewal of our own commitment, a way of saying to our Holy Mother: You are still at the very centre of everything we are. Every brushstroke, every piece of furniture carried, every corner cleaned was a quiet prayer. When we enter that room now, we feel the care that went into it, and it makes it easier to bow down and surrender.
What moves me most is that none of this was forced or orchestrated. It flowed. People simply felt the desire to give, and the right people appeared at the right moment with the right gifts. This is the spontaneity Shri Mataji spoke of the collective working like one body, each cell doing its part without being told, because each is connected to the same source.
When we are in that state, we see clearly that it is not “we” who do anything; it is Her love moving through us.
So, this thank-you is offered to each of you, and through each of you, to Her. Every sweet, every meal, every stroke of paint has been laid at Her Lotus Feet.
May the light of this Diwali stay with us long after the festival has passed. May we keep becoming lamps for one another, gentle, steady and bright, and may that light reach all those who are still searching for what we have been so blessed to find.
With all my love and deepest gratitude LETA Trustees
Jai Shri Mataji 🙏🪔
